Witness Africa's Greatest Spectacle.
Migration Season: July – October 2026
Join Kenya's most breathtaking wildebeest migration safaris — group departures from Nairobi, July through October 2026.
Why the Migration?
The Great Wildebeest Migration is the world's largest overland animal migration. Between July and October, over 1.5 million wildebeest, alongside hundreds of thousands of zebra and gazelle, make their spectacular journey into Kenya's Maasai Mara. The dramatic river crossings at the Mara River — crocodile-infested, chaotic, primal — are the defining wildlife spectacle on Earth.
Nowhere else on Earth do you witness this raw drama quite like Kenya. The Maasai Mara delivers the migration alongside the Big 5, black-maned lions, vast cheetah populations, and arguably the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet during these months.
The window is July 1 to October 31 — just four months. Hugu Adventures offers group-joining safaris departing any day within this window, meaning you travel with a small group, share costs, and experience Kenya's finest hour at the best possible price point.

Designed for those short on time but unwilling to compromise on the experience, you'll dive straight into the drama of the savannah. Destinations — Four Worlds. One Safari. Infinite Memories.
Maasai Mara National Reserve
Best for: The Great Migration & Big Cats
The Maasai Mara is Kenya's undisputed crown jewel. This vast, endless savannah is the stage for the greatest wildlife spectacle on Earth — the Great Wildebeest Migration. From July to October, over 1.5 million wildebeest and zebras pour into the Mara, braving the crocodile-infested waters of the Mara River in a dramatic fight for survival. But the Mara is spectacular year-round. It boasts one of the highest concentrations of predators in Africa. Here, you can track the legendary black-maned lions, witness cheetahs sprinting across the plains, and spot elusive leopards resting in the branches of acacia trees.
Wildlife: Big 5 Sightings, River Crossings, Hot Air Balloons, Maasai Culture. Featured in: 3 Days Mara, 4 Days Mara, 8 Days Ultimate.
Lake Nakuru National Park
Best for: Rhinos & Flamingos
Set within the picturesque Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru is a bird-lover's paradise and Kenya's premier rhino sanctuary. The shallow, alkaline lake is famous for attracting vast flocks of brilliant pink flamingos — sometimes numbering in the millions — creating a breathtaking pink fringe around the water's edge. Beyond the birds, the surrounding lush forests and acacia woodlands are a haven for endangered white and black rhinos. It is one of the best places in East Africa to guarantee a rhino sighting. You'll also find the rare Rothschild's giraffe, waterbucks, lions, and leopards hiding in the euphorbia trees.
Wildlife: White & Black Rhinos, Millions of Flamingos, Rothschild's Giraffes, 400+ Bird Species. Featured in: 4 Days Mara & Nakuru, 5 Days Mara Nakuru Naivasha, 7 Days Grand.
Lake Naivasha & Crescent Island
Best for: Walking Safaris & Boat Rides
Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake fringed by thick papyrus. The true magic happens when you take a traditional wooden boat ride across the glassy water, dodging pods of submerged hippos, to reach Crescent Island. Crescent Island is Kenya's best-kept secret — a private, predator-free wildlife sanctuary. Here, you can step out of the vehicle and walk freely on foot among grazing zebras, towering giraffes, waterbucks, and impalas. It is an incredibly peaceful, intimate wildlife encounter that provides a perfect contrast to the vehicle-based game drives.
Wildlife: Walking Safaris, Boat Excursions, Hippo Pods, Close Encounters. Featured in: 5 Days Mara Nakuru Naivasha, 7 Days Grand, 8 Days Ultimate.
Amboseli National Park
Best for: Elephants & Kilimanjaro Views
Known as "The Home of Elephants," Amboseli offers the quintessential African postcard view. Huge herds of free-ranging elephants wander the dusty plains, set against the magnificent backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro — Africa's highest peak. The contrast between the arid, dry lake bed and the lush swamps fed by Kilimanjaro's melting snow creates a unique ecosystem. These swamps attract abundant wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, buffalos, and a rich variety of water birds. The photography opportunities here, especially at dawn when the mountain is clear, are unparalleled.
Wildlife: Massive Elephant Herds, Mt. Kilimanjaro Views, Swamp Ecosystems, Epic Photography. Featured in: 3 Days Amboseli, 6 Days Mara Nakuru Amboseli, 8 Days Ultimate.
